New to Streetcasuals we are proud to welcome outerwear specialist Carhartt. Carhartt began making workwear and clothing for railworkers in 1889 out of duck canvas and denim fabrics. From humble beginnings with only a few sewing machines and a handful of staff the brand grew by travelling from town to town selling the individual railway workers divisions. It wasn't all plain sailing and during the great depression the company nearly went under and had to shut 15 of their plants leaving only 3 remaining. But over a century later and with a heritage other brands can only dream of, Carhartt is still a family owned business and still make some of the best outerwear available on the market.
It wasn't until 1994 that Carhartt was properly introduced into the European market and has since become one of the leading urban and streetwear brands. The old Carhartt philosophy of creating unique designs, made from quality durable fabrics and comfortable pieces extends into the current streetwear driven collections. The collection now carries most product groups and has products to suit most people, including their world renowned denim and pant collection which have a wide range of washes, finishes and fabrics. The Carhartt outerwear has a vast range for mens and ladies including original workwear pieces in duck canvas to heavy parka jackets designed for working in the harsh winter climates. Complimenting the denim and outerwear, Carhartt produce a great collection of sweatshirts, shirts, t-shirts and jumpers. To finish off the look there is also a great range of accessories including Carhartt beanies, wallets an belts.
With such a vast collection of clothing and accessories and a history that spans generations Carhartt really is a one off. There are now other brands that can boost such heritage and still have the popularity of this brand.
